A super senior is defined as someone who takes 5 years to complete a college degree. Michael Nicholson would certainly qualify for the moniker.

The 71-year-old man from Kalamazoo, Michigan, has earned 29 degrees to date, and says he has no plans of stopping now, according to the Huffington Post.

"I just stayed in school and took menial jobs to pay for the education and just made a point of getting more degrees and eventually I retired so that I could go full-time to school," Nicholson told

Nicholson said that school and learning is what inspires him to wake up every day adding, "Otherwise, things would be pretty dull."

Nicholson currently has one bachelor's degree, two associate's degrees, 22 master's, three specialist degrees, and one doctoral degree. The degrees range from educational leadership, library science and school psychology, to home economics, health education and law enforcement, according to ABC.

Nicholson said he would like to have 33 or 34 degrees. He told ABC, "When I complete that, I'll feel like I've completed my basic education. After that, if I'm still alive -- that would take me to 80 or 81 -- I would then be free to pursue any type of degree."
