70-year-old virgin is looking for love

Pam Shaw is what most would consider to be a late bloomer. 

Shaw, who works as a cabaret singer and goes by the stage name, "The Sexational Pam" told The Sun, she is ready to lose her virginity at the ripe age of 70. 

Shaw explained to The Sun, she does not believe in sex before marriage, so before she loses her virginity, she must first have a ring. 

“My standards are still very high, though. I’m hoping to bag a tall, dark and handsome millionaire," Shaw said. “I feel I am ready to give marriage a go and maybe go to bed with a man. You are never too old for anything. Just look at Joan Collins.”

Yahoo News noted a worldwide statistic that the average person retains his or her virginity until 17.3 years of age. Shaw has somewhat surpassed that statistic.

Shaw said she has never had a shortage of offers, however she always remained hesitant as men would often mistake her stage presence for her real personality. 

"Men saw the outfits I wore on stage and thought I would be easy. But I’ve never really been intimate with a man, just a bit of kissing. I had a sexy stage name and dressed sexy but that was all for my career," Shaw told The Sun. 

According to The Daily Mail, in 1976 Shaw accepted a marriage proposal from an oil rig worker in Blackpool, however they never made it to the alter. Shaw dumped him when she realized she wasn't attracted to him.

"I wasn't prepared to settle down — so it wasn't to be,' Shaw said. 

The one man who did capture Shaw's attention was Mr. Tom Jones. The two performed together in the 60s, according to The Daily Mail, but Shaw said it never went anywhere.
