Rick Santorum snapped a photo of Lindsay Lohan at the White House Correspondents' dinner, though he opted to stay out of the photograph himself.

According to TMZ, the actress, who has been in and out of rehab over the past few years, was sitting with Fox News personality Greta Van Susteren when former presidential hopeful Santorum approached the two.

Santorum asked Lindsay to take a photo of him with Greta using his camera, which she did, TMZ reported. He then requested a photo of just Lohan, which she also obliged.

Later, however, he avoided the subject of the photograph when asked about it by a photographer.

"I took a picture with a lot of people today," Santorum said.

Santorum attended the dinner with his son Daniel and two of his daughters, Sarah Maria and Elizabeth. He reportedly had a conversation with his daughters about the photo with Lohan after TMZ's photographer questioned him.

"Did I take one of Lindsay Lohan?" Santorum asked one his daughters, who was standing next to him, the Hill reported

"Yeah, no. You took one of us," she said.

"Why Lindsay?" the photographer asked.

"Ask my girls," Santorum replied. "That's who they asked."

Lohan's spokesperson did not comment about the star's interactions with Santorum, but did tell US Weekly that “Lindsay had a great time at the dinner and enjoyed meeting everyone. It was a terrific experience for her.”

Santorum wasn't the only politician rubbing shoulders with the Hollywood set: Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel was seen talking with actress Reese Witherspoon, and White House press secretary Jay Carney snapped his own photo with “Modern Family” actress Sofia Vergara, Politico reported
