Mensa accepts 4-year-old genius with IQ just below Einstein

A 4-year-old British girl was accepted by Mensa after scoring 159 on an IQ test – just short of Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.

Heidi Hankins, from Winchester UK, has not even begun school.

"We always thought Heidi was bright because she was reading early," Matthew Hankins, her father and university lecturer said, according to the UK Press Association.

"I was curious about her IQ and the results were off the scale."

She was making noises and trying to talk literally since she was born and by age 1 her vocabulary was quite good. Now it is really good."

According to Metro, the family decided to test Heidi's IQ after nursery staff said they had no activities to challenge her.

Heidi can already do basic math, and write clear sentences.

John Stevenage, chief executive of British Mensa, said, reported Yahoo: "Heidi's parents correctly identified that she shows great potential.

The youngest child to ever be accepted into Mensa was just over two years old, reported the BBC, and received a score of 160.

According to Mensa, the average adult IQ score is 100.
