LOS ANGELES — It reads like a scenario from Clue: three painters found dead in three different rooms of a Southern California home by the woman who hired them.

Authorities are currently investigating the deaths of the painters, who were found by their client inside her home in Rancho Cucamonga, California when she returned to check on them about 2:52 p.m. Friday afternoon, the Los Angeles Times reported. The woman found them unconscious on the floor and called 911, fire and sheriff's officials told the Times.

The men were identified as Francisco Corado, 27, Oscar Aguirre, 44, and Jahiron Mejia-Morales, 24, all of Cathedral City, and were pronounced dead inside the home, according to KTLA

Rancho Cucamonga Fire Chief James Curatalo said that the men were were using a gas-powered paint compressor inside the residence, the San Bernandino Sun reported. Fire crews found the compressor, which had run out of fuel and stopped working, in a bathroom, officials told KTLA.

Firemen used carbon monoxide detectors to test the air inside the home, but did not find increased levels of the toxic gas, KTLA reported.

There were no signs of trauma on the men and investigators do not suspect foul play.

The San Bernardino County coroner's office will conduct autopsies of all three victims next week to determine the cause of death, the Times reported.
