Pakistan: mourners killed in Peshawar funeral bombing

As many 13 people died today in a bomb attack at a funeral near Pakistan's north-west city of Peshawar, Al Jazeera reported.

Police said 31 people were wounded in the explosion, in the Badaber area, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on the outskirts of Peshawar.
Agence France Presse said politician Khushdil Khan, who is critical of Islamist militants in the region, was the attack's target. He escaped unhurt.
The explosion went off inside a house after mourners had offered prayers for a local woman, Al Jazeera reported.
Peshawar police chief Imtiaz Altaf said eight kilograms of explosives had been used in the blast.
"It was a suicide attack, we have found the head and legs of the bomber," he said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
In recent years, hundreds of people have died in attacks in Peshawar, which is near the Pakistani tribal belt that is home to Taliban and al-Qaeda militants.
