Apple trying to sue bankrupt Kodak for patent infringement

In a filing at a New York federal bankruptcy court on Tuesday, Apple Inc. asked for permission to sue Eastman Kodak Co. for infringing patents Apple said cover technologies used in printers, digital cameras and digital picture frames, according to Bloomberg.
Reuters reported that Apple wants to file the complaint against Kodak at the International Trade Commission. The American brand most famous for its family of "i" products also wants to file a corresponding lawsuit in Manhattan federal court seeking damages from the photography company that it claims to have suffered since Kodak filed for bankruptcy last month.

This isn't the first legal battle between the two companies. According to Reuters, Kodak sued Apple in January for allegedly infringing its digital camera patents.
But Bloomberg reported that Apple claimed to be the real owner of the image-preview patent in question, saying it developed a digital camera in the 1990s that was shared with Kodak, and that Kodak later sought the patent on the technology. Kodak denied the allegations.
