Children kidnapped by suspected gang freed by Mexican army
A state police officer and a Mexican soldier are seen during a confrontation with members of a gang. 13 suspected gang members were arrested in Temixco on Wednesday.
Three children kidnapped by a suspected gang were freed by Mexican army in a raid on Wednesday, BBC News reported.
Soldiers found the children chained up in a private home in the central city of Temixco, along with the decapitated body of a man, whose head had been found inside a motorcycle helmet in a nearby town on Tuesday, the BBC reported.

The victim has been identified as Eduardo Gonzalez Mora. No information was released about the children or their abduction, according to the BBC.
A threatening note was found next to the head, signed by a gang calling themselves "Los Rojos" (Red Ones). Officials also arrested thirteen suspected members of the gang, which specializes in theft, kidnapping and drug trafficking, the BBC reported.

Until recently, Morelos state, where Temixco is located, had not experienced the high levels of violence common in other regions of Mexico.
