Will Bachmann survive?

Representative Michele Bachmann put her struggling presidential race in biblical terms on Sunday when she spoke at small church in rural Iowa in a last bid to seal undecided voters.

"I admonish you, don't for one moment think that your adversity is one that cannot be scaled," Bachmann was quoted by Reuters saying to a group of roughly 100 churchgoers at Jubilee Family Church.

Although she won the Iowa straw poll in August, Bachmann has been steadily losing steam.

The majority of the polls in Iowa show Bachmann only being able muster support in the single digits, according to Real Clear Politics. The most recent Des Moines Register poll show 8.3 percent of caucusgoers saying they’d support Bachmann, placing her fifth out of the six-person GOP presidential race.

Bachmann’s campaign trail has been hit with several setbacks.

Kent Sorenson, her Iowa chair, announced on Dec. 28 that he would ditch her for Texas Representative Ron Paul. Sonrenson’s departure was seen as a major blow to her campaign.

Bachmann’s staffers also reportedly have said their campaign funds are running short and that the Minnesota representative is in danger of possible early elimination.

Bachmann evaded questions when reporters pressed her regarding the recent low poll numbers and staff defections. The New York Times described the account:

“...she said, ‘Honestly, these questions are ridiculous.’

‘Anybody have a real question?’

Someone asked, ‘Do you think you can win on Tuesday?’ And she replied, ‘I’m the lady for winning on Tuesday.’
