Police will control access to Buenos Aires
Seven hundred policemen will be deployed to control access to the Argentine capital, the security minister announced.
The policeman will man 42 checkpoints between Buenos Aires and the surrounding province with the goal of preventing auto theft, piracy of asphalt, drug trafficking and human trafficking, reported La Nacion.
Security Minister Nilda Garre said the new measures would create a deterrent to crime by increasing the number of uniformed police officers, control trucks that might be used for smuggling, and help with road safety, a serious problem in the country.
