Bin Laden planned 9/11 anniversary attack

According to data seized by Navy SEALs during the raid that killed Osama bin Laden in early May, the Al Qaida leader was in the initial phase of planning a terror attack on the U.S. to coincide with the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Bin Laden and his operations chief, Attiyah Abd al-Rahman, exchanged documents on flashdrives discussing recruits for an attack team. It is unclear what targets Bin Laden was aiming to attack. Siobhan Gorman  is the intelligence correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, and wrote about the newly discovered Bin Laden plot in today’s paper. Also, the BBC’s Gordon Correra  reports on why it took nearly a decade to track down and kill Bin Laden.
