Millions of thrill-seekers took to the cobblestone streets of Pamplona this week to participate in the annual running of the bulls at the San Fermin Festival.

The festival runs for nine days, beginning July 6 and lasting until July 14. Each day, at 8:00 a.m., six fighting bulls and six steers are released onto the city streets. Revelers wearing white clothing adorned with red scarves, run through the streets alongside the bulls until they reach the bullring where the bulls are killed that night.

Fueled by alcohol, the festival is said to be one of the biggest street parties in the world.

The bull running, now on its third day, has left seven people injured including a “reckless” Australian tourist who was gored in the leg after taunting one of the bulls.
