Filipino slum dweller lands instant $8 million

Filipinos fill out lottery cards at an outlet in Manila on November 29, 2010.

Right now, there's a 60-year-old carpenter in the Manila slums who can't read.

And he's (probably) way richer than you.

According to the AFP, the lucky guy hit it big with a single ticket, worth 46 cents.

The jackpot had swelled in recent weeks as no one had picked the right number, which turned out to be a six-number combo based on the guy's wedding date, his wife's birthday and his own birthday.

The winner, who is still unknown to the public, lives with his six kids. All but one is married. And they're all piled into a shack.

So it's little surprise that his first big purchase, according to lottery officials, will be a house.
