Syrian activists have called for daily protests beginning Tuesday in support of thousands of detained anti-regime demonstrators. The government crackdown on protesters has been responsible for over 700 deaths; meanwhile the government of Bashar al-Assad maintains that the protesters are being incited by terrorists. A freelance journalist reporting from Syria says he has many contacts who have been arrested and witnessed torture.
