There's nothing like a little perspective. And that's what this brilliant little feature at the Economist today is offering. In short, it equates the GDP of states with entire countries (they don't call the U.S. economy the world's largest for nothing).

The site also breaks down populations of U.S. states, and compares them with countries around the world. Fascinating stuff, all around.
