Israeli commandos storm pro-Palestinian activist ship, at least 10 killed

The World
Israeli commandos stormed a flotilla of ships carrying hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists, many from Turkey, who were trying to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza strip. However, there have been conflicting reports as to what exactly happened. Israelis say their commandos were attacked when the activists snatched a gun from one of their soldiers and opened fire. The organizers say the Israeli troops began to fire the moment their feet hit the deck. There has been widespread international condemnation of the Israeli action and UN secretary Ban Ki Moon has called for a full investigation, while Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas described the incident as a "massacre." The BBC's Wyre Davies reports from Israeli port of Ashdod waiting for the ships to arrive.
