The internet: the biggest threat to endangered species

The biggest threat to endangered species may not be loss of habitat or illegal poaching. Conservationists are concerned that the internet currently poses the biggest single threat to endangered species.

It is easier than ever to sell anything from live baby lions to polar bear pelts online and conservationists are worried enough to discuss the Internet threat to at the 175-nation Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species, taking place this week in the Gulf state of Qatar. We talk with the BBC’s Adam Mynott, from Doha.
