Conversation with Keith Jarrett

Here and Now

The trio is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with re-releases of classic performances on CD and DVD as well as concerts.

Jarrett’s career was catapulted in the 1960s with his tenure with the Charles Lloyd Band.  After a stint with Miles Davis’ band in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Jarrett moved on to focus on his own groups and compositions.  He continues to draw crowds for his wholly-improvised solo piano performances, and even more, his vaunted standards trio.

Host Robin Young delves into the history of Jarrett’s career by asking probing questions, and Jarrett returns by opening up about the methods in his music making and his relationship with band members, the music, and the audience.
