Since the attacks of September 11th, Democrats have struggled to carve out a foreign policy perspective distinct from the Bush Administration's. In short, they didn't want to look like wimps, and so many went along with Bush's plan to remake the Middle East via pre-emptive war. Atlantic Monthly blogger Matthew Yglesias is calling on Democrats to make their own foreign policy.
