Iraqi government takes on militias

HZ says the goal of the operation is to restore order in Basra, a lifeline city of Iraq, a main city of Iraqi revenue due to oil resources, etc. (Would you define this as a major operation?) An important one because Basra is under the control of militias, not the government. (Who does the government of Iraq see as the enemy?) The militias and illegal groups. It’s very chaotic, the militias are competing amongst themselves, which is why law and order has to be restored. (Are you going after all the militias?) Well they should all be disarmed and brought under control. order should be with the government. (Does the Iraqi government have enough force to take on the Mehdi Army?) They are fighting back. They are using military action. (Do you hold al-Sadr responsible?) It’s not just one group, it’s a number of groups. (some violence has spread to other cities, are you anticipating civil war?) No, I don’t think it’s a civil war.
