Violence against civilians in Myanmar escalates

Top of The World: Security authorities in Myanmar on Sunday targeted the funeral of a student only a day after killing more than 100 people including children. And, dozens of people in Mozambique were killed in an attack on the northern town of Palma. Also, the massive container ship, Ever Given, has been successfully unstuck from the sandy back of the Suez Canal on Monday.

China announces ban on British politicians, organizations

Top of The World: China on Friday imposed sanctions on several UK members of Parliament and British organizations. And, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed released a statement Friday suggesting Eritrea has agreed to withdraw troops from Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region. Also, China has released its official view of the COVID-19 origins before an official World Health Organization report.
