Planned Giving

Through effective gift planning, you receive significant tax benefits while supporting us. We encourage you to contact us at 612.330.9246 or send an e-mail. We are glad to answer questions and let you know about the variety of giving opportunities available at PRI.

Beneficiary designations
Some individuals wish to give life insurance or retirement assets to PRI. If you would like to donate to PRI this way, it could be as simple as declaring PRI a beneficiary of your insurance policy or retirement fund. To do so, talk with your retirement plan benefits advisor or your life insurance professional so that they can help you make this designation, and you can help PRI spread cultural awareness in this interconnected world.

Bequests
Often, people don't believe their "estate" is large enough to protect. However; here at PRI, we value bequests of any size. Whether you wish to donate your entire estate, a fixed dollar amount or a percentage of your assets, bequests are easy to make. If you have an existing will, your attorney can help you add a new gift or change a provision by making a simple amendment (a codicil). We are happy to assist you to ensure that your giving objectives are met. To leave an unrestricted bequest to PRI in your will, you might use the wording: "I hereby give, devise, and bequeath (insert dollar amount, percentage of estate or residuary) to Public Radio International, a non-profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of Minnesota, currently located at 401 2nd Avenue North, Suite 500, Minneapolis, MN, 55401, for its general purposes." If you choose to donate to PRI's Endowment Fund, which means that your gift will be invested and the interest it generates will support PRI's work, make sure to include the words "to be added to PRI's Endowment" before "for its general purposes." Please let us know if you include PRI in your will so we can acknowledge your generosity and express our gratitude for your support and contribution to PRI's pursuit to create greater awareness in this ever-changing world.
