Pakistan's government likes to ban things. On New Year's eve, it instituted bans on particular ways of using motorbikes. But that's perhaps one of the milder bans. On several occasions this year, the government has banned the use of cell phones, social media and even motorbikes entirely.
Pakistani troops have ended a siege by militants who attacked a naval base in the city of Karachi. The Pakistani Taliban says the raid was to avenge Osama Bin Laden's killing by US special forces on May 2. Madiha Tahir reports from Karachi.
The BBC's Jill McGivering reports that many of the victims say government officials are corrupt and are withholding resources, including blankets, money and shelter. But Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik disagrees.
