Zachariah Hughes

Zachariah Hughes is a reporter for Alaska Public Media in Anchorage, covering politics, the military, and cultural issues. In this role he's gotten to travel to some of the most remote parts of Alaska, and on military embeds overseas. He helped launch a daily podcast covering the Iditarod sled-dog race from the trail. His reporting regularly appears on NPR, Marketplace, Here and Now, and The Guardian. 

Originally from New England, Zach lived abroad in Turkey and the Czech Republic before getting his start in radio at KNOM in Nome, Alaska.
