Sarah Macaraeg

Sarah Macaraeg is an award-winning investigative journalist whose New Mexico-based reporting on US Customs and Border Protection and for-profit Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention centers has been featured at Democracy Now!, The Guardian, Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting, and daily newspapers across New Mexico. Prior to reporting on immigration enforcement, Macaraeg covered police and prosecutorial misconduct in Chicago, where she co-wrote an investigation on the controversial “felony murder” law which won the national Sidney Award.
