Nixon Otieno is Head of Policy and Campaigns at ActionAid Kenya. A manager by profession and activist by practice, he has over 10 years experience with four different NGOs.

He previously worked as a teacher, field worker and disaster officer before joining ActionAid Kenya as Policy Coordinator 6 years ago, before taking up his current position. He has worked on issues of budget advocacy, conflict and disaster management, conservation, land rights, livelihoods rights and public private partnerships.

ActionAid is an international anti-poverty agency working in over 40 countries taking sides with poor people to end poverty and injustice together. The organization works with local partners to reach some of the poorest and most vulnerable people in Asia, Africa and the Americas, helping them fight for and gain their rights to food, shelter, work, education, healthcare and a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.
