Kevin McLean

Kevin McLean is a wildlife scientist and freelance radio producer based in Davis, California. He is a graduate of the Audio Academy at KALW in San Francisco and a former Fulbright-National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellow. He has a PhD in Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.

Scientists found the capuchin monkey using stone tools to crush food in 2018 in a wildlife preserve in Panama. Earlier this spring, researchers went back to learn more about the monkey’s innovation.
