Javad Parsa
Javad Parsa was born in Sari, Iran, and fled to Turkey in 2009 to escape arrest after pictures he took of the Iranian uprising were published abroad.He later moved to Oslo in Norway, where he now works as a freelance photographer.One of Javad’s photos was chosen for the cover of the June, 29 2009 edition of Time Magazine, and his work from Iran has been published in numerous national and international publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Newsweek, The Seattle Times, Le Figaro, Paris Match and The Guardian.

In 2009, photographer Javad Parsa was forced to leave his native Iran. In his new life, he’s met with many other Iranians, and developed a project to document their lives. They all have different reasons for leaving their mother country. Parsa just returned from the Canadian metropolis often referred to as “Tehranto.”
