Elah Feder is the co-host and producer of Undiscovered. She is also Science Friday’s resident Canadian.
She first got into podcasts in 2007 when she was a grad student studying evolutionary biology at the University of Toronto. Working late nights in the lab, sorting fruit flies under a microscope, Elah would listen to a lot of Gwen Stefani. After some noise complaints, she phased out the beats, discovered radio and podcasts, and was never the same.
Her most enduring effort to date is I Like You, a podcast about love and like that she co-hosted for five years, learning how to produce audio on the fly. She has also contributed segments to CBC Radio shows like Spark, The Current, and The Sunday Edition, and has written for publications like Virginia Magazine and Xtra, Canada’s LGBT newspaper. Before joining SciFri, Elah investigated the oil and gas industry with the Energy & Environment Reporting Project at the Columbia Journalism School.
