Casey L. Coombs is a freelance journalist based in Sanaa, Yemen. After a one year stint at UN headquarters in New York, where he covered Security Council work on Libya and Syria's Arab Spring uprisings, Casey moved to Sanaa to report on one of the movement's lesser known rebellions, the Yemeni Spring.

Focusing on Yemen's US-sponsored battle against al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula during this fragile transition period, Casey's reporting has appeared in TIME, Wired, Foreign Policy, IRIN, Global Post, Aviation Week and the Jamestown Foundation. He’s also contributed to Monocle 24 radio.
