Arieh O'Sullivan

Arieh O’Sullivan is an award-winning defense journalist who has covered Israel and the Middle East for over two decades. He is currently an anchor and military affairs reporter for IBA English TV news in Israel.

He was bureau chief of The Media Line, an independent news agency covering the Middle East. He served for 10 years as the defense correspondent and analyst for The Jerusalem Post.

As a military correspondent he enjoys an inside view of the security establishment and industries. He is often sought after by the foreign media and others to give a behind

the scenes look at the security situation and its dilemmas. He has covered conflicts across the globe, including Kosovo, Palestinian territories, Northern Ireland, Lebanon, Turkey and more. He is also often a guest commentator on a variety of world radio and television news programs.

Before joining The Jerusalem Post, O'Sullivan worked for seven years as a correspondent for The Associated Press based in Jerusalem and covered the peace processes, 1991 Gulf War, Palestinian unrest, the Rabin assassination, immigration from Ethiopia as well as the civil war in Rwanda. O'Sullivan was a Knight Journalism fellow at Stanford University from 2002- 2003. He has a BA in mass communications from the University of Minnesota.

O’Sullivan was raised in the US states of Louisiana and Mississippi. O’Sullivan lives on the ecological village of Srigim in the Elah Valley in central Israel where he lives with his wife and three children and grows olives for oil.
