Yedoma permafrost

Yedoma is a type of permafrost that is very rich in carbon matter. If yedoma thaws, it can release large quantities of greenhouse gases. This is the yedoma exposure at the famous "Duvannuy Yar" location on the Lower Koluma River in Northern Yakutia, Russia.
