Dust filters
Dust filters. The bottom left is an unused filter and top left is a control (particles collected from a non-mining area). The other four filters collected dust from various mountaintop removal (MTR) mining areas. Dust from these MTR mining areas contains silica, molybdenum, aluminum and other minerals that, when inhaled, cause irreversible cancerous changes to lungs.
