One of the challenges that many young refugees face is not being called for their first meeting with immigration until after their 18th birthday — which is sometimes up to three years since they first arrived in Sweden. This means that they are categorized as an adult and not as the child they were when they arrived, thus increasing their likelihood of deportation.
