The pandemic is ushering in a new class of vaccines — ones that use DNA

Scientists in India are readying to roll out the world’s first DNA-based vaccine this month. The government has authorized it for COVID-19. But the implications go beyond the pandemic. It represents a proof of concept for a new wave of vaccines, ones that could help take on other diseases in the future. The World’s Elana Gordon reports.
