How will the US collect intelligence in Afghanistan? 

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been four weeks since the last US troops exited Afghanistan. The US and its allies are still keeping a close eye on Afghanistan, with counterterrorism and national security top of mind. But how will the US gather intelligence in Afghanistan while not actually being there? Many experts are saying the answer could lie in some Central Asian countries bordering Afghanistan. Douglas London is a retired senior CIA operations officer and during his 30-plus years in the CIA’s Clandestine Service, he was stationed in many different countries, including in Central Asia.
