A hero returns to the Chinese motherland

Meng Wanzhou is back in China. She’s the CFO of Chinese tech company Huawei. Back in 2018, Meng was detained by authorities in Canada. The US wanted her extradited to face charges to do with evading sanctions related to Iran. That never happened, though. And on Friday, Meng was released from detention. Just hours later, China freed two Canadians — Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor. They’re now back home after being detained for more than 1,000 days. The World’s Rebecca Kanthor tells host Marco Werman about how the story is going over in China.
