China to stop building new coal-fired power plants abroad 

Chinese President Xi Jinping said Tuesday that his country will no longer fund coal-fired power plants abroad. The announcement at the United Nations General Assembly came after months of public pressure and is a welcome announcement to those concerned about the outcome of the UN climate summit in November.  The World’s environment correspondent Carolyn Beeler speaks with host Marco Werman about the meaning and significance of the announcement.
