The Federated States of Micronesia and the US reached a consensus last month on building a US military base on the Pacific island nation. FSM's president says the agreement provides the country with security and economic aid. Ashley Westerman reports that the base also serves as another foothold in the Pacific for the US, which is increasingly concerned about the growing influence of China in the region.
