Germany and other EU countries react to US exit from Afghanistan

As the US scrambles to secure the Kabul airport in the waning days before its final exit from Afghanistan, the US’ European partners are following events closely. Twenty years ago, the US entered Afghanistan with a broad coalition of forces, including Germany and other NATO allies. Now, the Biden administration says that it’s working closely with its allies during this transition period for Afghanistan. Host Carol Hills speaks with Constanze Stelzenmüller, she’s a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, where she’s also the Fritz Stern Chair on Germany and trans-Atlantic relations.
