Thousands of workers employed by mostly US-owned factories in Mexico were vaccinated with leftover Johnson & Johnson vaccines from the US that were close to their expiration dates. Factory owners covered the costs. Although the vaccination programs are now over, The World’s Daisy Contreras reports that more may need to happen to keep border towns safe as new infection rates are on the rise.
