A musical quest to learn more about a once-thriving Jewish community in the Balkans 

The Balkan city of Monastir, now Bitola, once had a thriving Jewish community before World War II. Musician Sarah Aroeste wanted to learn more about the city’s history and her family’s background. The result is a new album of songs from the area that help tell the tale of Monastir.
