Biden-Putin summit in Geneva: A meeting of adversaries 

“A worthy adversary.” That’s what US President Joe Biden called Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier this week. Biden has also called Putin a “killer.” To that Putin said “it takes one to know one.” Despite the tension in the lead-up to the summit, the two leaders were overly cordial in their remarks following their meeting in Geneva on Wednesday. Neither side made any threats, Biden said, and while they have clear differences, the two leaders laid the groundwork for future cooperation. Host Marco Werman speaks with Rose Gottemoeller, the lead US negotiator for the new START arms reduction treaty, and was on the team that briefed Biden for his meeting with Putin.
