Palm oil is found in vast numbers of products on grocery shelves. In her new book, "Planet Palm: How Palm Oil Ended Up in Everything — and Endangered the World," author Jocelyn Zuckerman traces the long, violent colonial history of palm oil cultivation, which connects every corner of the globe, from the US to the UK to Nigeria to Honduras. In her conversation with host Marco Werman, Zuckerman connects this history to the present state of palm oil cultivation around the world.
