Mexican citizens abroad get representation in local Congress

Mexicans residing abroad, particularly those born in Mexico City, will for the first time elect an official to represent them in the Mexico City Congress. Eleven contenders want that seat — which would have the same power as other local elected officials. Many welcome the change, while many others, especially citizens inside Mexico, are pushing back.
