Germany ramps up its climate plan

A landmark ruling in favor of young Germans suing their country for not going far enough to tackle climate change has vastly increased the ambitions of their national plan. And it creates a much harsher outlook for the country’s coal industry, which has historically been a huge part of the nation’s culture and economy.
