Portugal opens world’s longest pedestrian suspension bridge

On Monday, Portugal opened a new bridge, which is now the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world. The Arouca 516 bridge is not for the faint of heart — 516 is its length in meters, or about 1,700 feet long. It’s suspended some 550 feet above the Paiva River Canyon in northern Portugal. Host Marco Werman speaks with António Tadeu of the Portuguese studio Itecons. Tadeu headed the project and helped design it.
