Vishavjit Singh is a Sikh American artist and activist who is usually working on diversity and representation issues in the United States. But in recent months, he has been deeply involved in supporting the hundreds of thousands of farmers in India who are protesting new laws pushed through by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that lift fixed pricing for farm goods. Singh says what’s similar about the farmers in India and minorities in the United States is the need to be seen and heard. Marco Werman speaks to Vishavjit Singh who is working with United Sikhs, a human rights and humanitarian aid organization affiliated with the United Nations.
