Kazakhstan joins growing number of countries to ban capital punishment

After a 17-year moratorium, Kazakhstan has now officially abolished the death penalty. Its president said the move was necessary to fulfill the fundamental right to life and dignity. But as The World's Rupa Shenoy reports, others say Kazakhstan banned capital punishment in order to improve its standing with the West.
