Royal Dutch Shell is being sued to make it commit to reining in its carbon emissions 45% by the year 2030. In another case, six Portuguese teenagers filed the first-ever climate-related case at the European Court of Human Rights, charging that 33 European countries have not done enough to prevent the impacts of climate change from violating their citizens’ human rights.
